HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Purchase College women's soccer team was edged 2-1 by Centenary University on Saturday afternoon. With the result, the Panthers dropped to 1-5-0, while the Cyclones improved to 3-2-0.
From the whistle, both teams exchanged shots in a back-and-forth battle for control. The hosts struck first, taking a 1-0 lead into the break.
After halftime adjustments, Purchase came out strong with Rebecca Quick (SR/Millbrook, NY) leveling the score 1-1. However, Centenary regained the upper hand just three minutes later with a decisive goal, sealing the 2-1 victory.
Individually, Quick led the Panthers with four shots and the team's only goal. Lindita Selmani (SO/Brooklyn, NY) added three shots, while Jess McHugh (SO/Ellenville, NY) contributed one

Carolyn Hough (JR/Massapequa, NY) recorded one save in the first half, while
Jill Creegan (SO/Hempstead, NY) made two saves in the second half.
The Blue and Orange will return to action on September 17th to host their Skyline Conference opener against the University of Mount Saint Vincent at 6:00 p.m.
