KINGS POINT, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's soccer team was defeated at the United States Merchant Marine Academy Sunday afternoon, dropping the Skyline Conference matchup by the score of 11-0.
With the loss, the Panthers dropped to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the league. For the Mariners, they jumped to 4-2 and 1-0, respectively.
In the opening half, the hosts stuck the back of the net three times with the first coming in the sixth minute.
Following the break, the floodgates opened as they added eight more goals to cruise in the win.
For the Blue and Orange, their offense finished with five shots overall (four on goal).Â
Individually,
Jack Gjokaj (SR/Thornwood, NY) tallied eight saves, while
Adam Tobar (SO/Mineola, NY) collected four saves in the effort.
Up next for the squad is more Skyline road action, as the team battles Mount Saint Vincent on September 18th at 7 p.m.
