PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's soccer team dominated Yeshiva University in a commanding 8-0 victory on Sunday morning. With the win, the Panthers improved to 3-6-0, while the Maccabees dropped to 0-9-0.
From the opening whistle, the Blue and Orange controlled the game, applying constant pressure on Yeshiva's defense.
Lindita Selmani (SO/Brooklyn, NY) led the charge, scoring four goals, including a hat trick in the first half. Bailey Carlon (SO/New York, NY), Rebecca Quick (SR/Millbrook, NY), Jessica McHugh (SO/Ellenville, NY), and Carolyn Hough (JR/Massapequa, NY) added to the scoring spree, with Hough converting a penalty kick in the second half.
The Panthers outshot Yeshiva 44-4, with 23 of those shots on goal. Quick, Selmani, Carlon, and Sophia Franklin (SO/St. Catharines, Ontario) all contributed assists.
In goal Hough, Jill Creegan (FY/ High Falls, NY) and Valentina Quintero (FY/Miami, FL) combined for a clean sheet.
The Blue and Orange will return to action on Wednesday, September 25th when they travel to Mount Saint Mary College. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
