PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon with an emotional pregame ceremony and a hard-fought 0-0 draw against The City College of New York.

With the results, the Blue and Orange now sit 4-6-1, while the Beavers moved to 1-6-2.

Before kickoff, head coach Nick Malvai and the Panthers honored the team's four graduating seniors Carolyn Hough (Massapequa, NY), Julieth Velasquez (White Plains, NY), Marah Lewis (Mount Vernon, NY), and Bailey Carlon (Gilbert, AZ). Each senior was recognized with flowers and gifts as family, friends and teammates gathered on the field. Volunteer and alum Shannon Paulson '25 shared heartfelt words celebrating their accomplishments and contributions to the team.

Despite being sidelined by injury this season, Carlon (Gilbert, AZ) was given a special moment to start the match.

With the pregame emotions settled and the team refocused in a quick huddle, the Panthers came out strong, dominating possession and outshooting the CCNY 17-13, including seven shots on goal. Velasquez and Lindita Selmani (JR/Brooklyn, NY) led the charge up front, combining for six of Purchase's shots on target, while goalkeeper Hough (Massapequa, NY) anchored the defense with seven saves to secure the shutout.

Despite several close chances, including a flurry in the final minutes, the hosts was unable to find the back of the net.

Up next, the Blue and Orange will host Centenary College on October 14 for a 7 p.m. matchup under the lights.
