FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's tennis team came up short against Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State on Wednesday afternoon.
With the results, the Panthers fell to 6-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference, while the hosts improved to 6-4 overall and remain undefeated in the Skyline.
Junior captain Amelia Perlmutter (Rutherford, NJ) and senior Emma Arnaud (Farmington, NY) challenged the Rams' top duo at No. 1 doubles before ultimately falling 6-4, while Katelin Smith (JR/Slate Hill, N.Y.) pushed her singles match to a thrilling third-set super tiebreak at the No. 3 spot, narrowly dropping a 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 decision.
The Blue and Orange return to the courts Saturday, October 18, when they travel to face St. Joseph's University-Long Island at noon for their second to last regular season match.
