BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team was defeated on the road Thursday night, falling to St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-5, 25-15 and 25-20.Â
With the result, the Panthers dropped to 3-16 overall and 1-8 in the Skyline. For the Bears, they moved to 10-9 and 5-4, respectively.
Over the course of the match, the hosts had eight separate runs of at least four points or more, including an eight-point rally.
For the Blue and Orange, the second set of the night was their best overall, as they totaled eight kills on .208 hitting.
They just could not overcome the hitting of the hosts, as the Bears finished with 37 kills on .290 hitting.
Individually,
Sadie Weiss (SO/Bronx, NY) finished with a team-high eight kills.
Natalia Leite (JR/Thornwood, NY) recorded seven assists and two aces, while
Marcella Pena (JR/Bronx, NY) led the way with 13 digs.
Up next for the Panthers is a return home as they welcome Manhattanville University on November 3rd at 6 p.m.
