NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's soccer team faced a tough Skyline Conference opponent Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 to Mount Saint Mary College.
With the results, the Blue and Orange moved to 3-6 on the season and 2-4 in the conference while the hosts improved to 4-6-1 and 4-0, respectively.
The Knights struck first in the 17th minute before extending their advantage before halftime sending the hosts into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Mount Saint Mary would score twice more in the second half to seal the game.
The Panthers were limited to a single shot, taken by forward Lindita Selmani (JR/Brooklyn, NY), while goalkeeper Jill Creegan (SO/High Falls, NY) tallied five saves before Carolyn Hough (SR/Massapequa, NY) closed the match in net, adding two more stops.
Up next, Purchase heads to Farmingdale State College on October 7 for a 7 p.m. matchup under the lights.
