THROGGS NECK, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team dropped a Skyline Conference matchup Thursday night, falling at Maritime College in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-7, 25-12 and 25-12.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 2-10 overall and 0-2 in the league. For the Privateers, they jumped to 8-7 and 1-2, respectively.
It was a tough offensive outing for the Blue and Orange, as the squad finished with just seven kills on a negative hitting percentage.
For the hosts, they totaled 26 kills on .235 hitting and used long scoring runs in all three frames to create the necessary space to earn the victory.
Individually,
Maya Brown (JR/Carteret, NJ) led the way with 7.5 points, thanks to five aces, two kills and a block assist.
Natalia Leite (JR/Thornwood, NY) chipped in a match-high 11 digs, two kills and an ace, while
Sadie Weiss (SO/Bronx, NY) totaled five digs and a team-high four assists.
Up next for the Panthers is a return home, as the squad welcomes St. Joseph's University-Long Island this weekend. That game will take place on October 11th at 11 a.m.
