PAXTON, Mass. – The Purchase College women's basketball dropped its road matchup at Anna Maria Wednesday night, 80–61.

With the results, the Panthers move to 1–3 on the season while the AMCATS improved to 1-3.

Purchase kept pace with a 14–14 first quarter, but the hosts took control with a 25-15 second frame and a decisive 27-10 third quarter that created the separation.

The Blue and Orange outscored Anna Maria 22-14 in the final frame, but it wasn't enough to close the gap. 

Ashley Santiago (SO/Poughkeepsie, NY) led the Panthers with 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals off the bench. Kaylena Steiner (JR/ Fresno, CA) added 10 points, five boards and two steals, while Charlee Neb (SR/Longmont, CO) finished with eight points and went 5-for-6 at the line and Tianna Patten (FY/Mount Vernon, NY) chipped in eight points and 3 rebounds.

Purchase owned a 43–51 rebounding margin, including 18 offensive boards, and produced 35 bench points, but struggled from the field overall at 28.1 percent (18–64) compared to the AMCATS 46 percent. 

Up next, the Blue and Orange will host their first conference match against the College at Old Westbury on November 22nd at 12 p.m. The Purchase Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be hosting a food drive for the Purchase Food Pantry.
