Massive Comeback Lifts Women's Basketball Past St. Joseph’s-BK

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's basketball team engineered a stunning second-half rally Tuesday night, erasing a 22-point deficit to defeat St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn by the score of 65–62.

With the results, the Panthers improved to 3–3 overall and 2–0 in the Skyline Conference, while the hosts dropped to 4–3 and 0-3, respectively.

After being held to just 22 points through the first two quarters, Purchase flipped the script by outscoring the Bears 43–25 the rest of the way, including a decisive 23–12 fourth quarter. The Blue and Orange shot 53.8 percent in the final frame and buried three critical threes to complete the comeback.

Individually, Tianna Patten (FY/Mount Vernon, NY) was unstoppable off the bench, posting a team-high and career-high 20 points on 5–11 shooting while going 10–12 at the free-throw line. She also pulled down nine rebounds and added three steals.

Charlee Neb (SR/Longmont, CO) filled the stat sheet with 10 points, seven rebounds and four steals, while Kendall Larsen (JR/Port Richmond, NY) added eight points. Tvisha Sivaramakrishnan (SO/White Plains, NY) anchored the interior with eight rebounds, four blocks and a steal and Katie Argenzio (SO/Washingtonville, NY) went 2-3 from beyond the arc, contributed eight points and three assists.

As a team, Purchase shot 37.3 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from three, and 57.7 percent at the line, building steadily each quarter and peaking with a 53.8 percent FG, 75 percent 3PT fourth period. The Bears finished at 31.0% overall, 33.3% from deep, and 64.3% at the stripe, cooling off dramatically in the fourth where they shot just 17.6% from the floor.

The Blue and Orange head into a brief Thanksgiving break before returning to the road on December 3rd, this time at Farmingdale State College. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
