FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — Purchase women's basketball remained undefeated in Skyline Conference play Wednesday night, grinding out a 66–64 road victory at Farmingdale State.
With the results, the Blue and Orange improved to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the Skyline, while the hosts dropped to 2-4 and 1-3, respectively.
The Panthers found themselves in a battle from the opening tip, with neither side leading by more than six all night. After trailing 28–24 at halftime, the guests flipped the momentum in the third quarter behind an aggressive offensive push, outscoring the Rams 21–18 to set up a nail-biting finish.
Charlee Neb (SR/Longmont, CO) powered the offense with 18 points, going 11-for-12 at the free-throw line, including scoring the game-winning points. Tianna Patten (FY/Mount Vernon, NY) delivered huge minutes off the bench, finishing with 14 points and five rebounds, while Halle Greaige (JR/Rye Brook, NY) and Katie Argenzio (SO/Washingtonville, NY) chipped in eight points apiece with a pair of timely threes.
The Blue and Orange shot 38.6 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 77.1 percent at the line, in a tight back-and-forth contest that featured 12 ties and 12 lead changes.
Purchase returns to action this weekend as they host the University of Mount Saint Vincent on December 6th at noon.
