KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's basketball team dropped a tough road contest Tuesday night, falling 73–52 to USMMA in a Skyline Conference matchup.

With the results, the Blue and Orange are now 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the Skyline, while the Mariners improved to 7-3 and 4-1, respectively. 

The Panthers trailed Merchant Marine at the half, 39–22, with Charlee Neb (SR/Longmont, CO) leading the way with eight points and three steals.

Purchase responded with its strongest stretch coming out of the break, shooting 50 percent in the third quarter. Tianna Patten (FY/Mount Vernon, NY) poured in 13 second-half points and added four steals as the Panthers attempted to chip away at the deficit. Despite the push, Merchant Marine maintained control and closed out the game, 73–52.

The visitors shot 33.3 percent from the field and outperformed the hosts at the free-throw line, 63.6 to 53.3 percent.

Individually, Patten paced the offense with 13 points and four steals, followed by Neb with nine points and five steals. Halle Greaige (JR/Rye Brook, NY) and Tvisha Sivaramakrishnan (SO/White Plains, NY) added six points each, while Ashley Santiago (SO/Poughkeepsie, NY) anchored the boards with a team-high six rebounds.

The Blue and Orange return to their home court on December 14th to host Yeshiva University at noon.
