NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team earned a convincing win on the road Tuesday night, topping The City College of New York in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-19, 25-13 and 25-16. With the win, the Panthers jumped to 3-4 overall, while the Beavers fell to 0-5 on the young season.
During each of the three sets, the guests enjoyed sizable runs to create space between themselves and CCNY.
Purchase also enjoyed a much better night hitting the ball, as it compiled 38 kills on .291 hitting in the effort. For the hosts, the finished with marks of 22 and .000, respectively.
Individually,
Channing Williams (SO/Neptune, NJ) continued to serve as top hitter, after recording 12 kills on .375 hitting.
Tyler Ryan (JR/Port Reading, NJ) was right on his heels with 10 kills and three aces, while
Ayden Mercado (FY/Brooklyn, NY) totaled 20 assists in the win.
Up next for the Blue and Orange is a non-conference road tri-match, as they face Bryn Athyn College and York College on February 15th, beginning at 10 a.m.
