Panthers Close Out Home Slate with a Win on Morgan’s Message Night

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's basketball team capped off their 2024-25 home schedule with a 68-63 victory over Yeshiva University, rallying in the final quarter to secure the win.

With the results, the Panthers improved to 4-15 in the Skyline Conference and 5-19 overall, while the Maccabees dropped to 4-15 and 4-20, respectively.

The night began with a special dedication to Morgan's Message, a foundation advocating for mental health awareness in student-athletes. Women's lacrosse sophomore and Morgan's Message ambassador Annelise Durkin shared the organization's mission, emphasizing the importance of eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health. She also led a moment of silence for Morgan Rodgers and others who have struggled in silence.

With the dedication complete, the action on the court began, and the visiting Macs got off to a quick start, leading 15-9 after the first quarter. Purchase responded in the second, trimming the deficit to just one at halftime, 25-24.

Both teams traded baskets in a high-intensity third quarter before the Panthers surged ahead late, outscoring Yeshiva 23-18 in the final frame to seal the win, 68-63.

Individually, Charlee Neb (JR/Longmont, CO) led the way for the Blue and Orange with 15 points, six steals, and five rebounds.

Carlye Graff (SR/South Nyack, NY) added 13 points, sinking three from beyond the arc, while Kaylena Steiner came off the bench to contribute 13 points and six rebounds.

Tvisha Sivaramakrishnan (FY/White Plains, NY) chipped in seven points, including a perfect 4-for-4 from the line and Kendall Larsen (SO/Staten Island, NY) added seven points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Panthers capitalized on turnovers, scoring 25 points off Yeshiva's 17 giveaways and their bench outscored the Maccabees 23-4.

Purchase will close out their 2024-25 season on the road at Sarah Lawrence College on February 22nd at 2 p.m.
