Panthers Welcome Alumnae Back to Center Court

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's basketball team celebrated Alumni Day on Saturday afternoon during halftime of their Skyline Conference matchup against Manhattanville University. The Panthers, now 4-17 overall and 3-13 in the Skyline, ultimately fell to the Valiants (14-5, 11-4 Skyline) by the score of 80-30.

From the opening tip, the guests took control, racing to a 24-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Manhattanville forced 38 turnovers, converting them into 36 points while Purchase struggled to find their offensive rhythm. 

At halftime, head coach Stephen Bower and the team honored alumnae for their dedication, continued support, and contributions to the program over the years. Jessica Bullock '14, Shayla Diaz '10, Imani Floyd '14, Alyssa La Padula '12, Alyssa Guido '12, Jessica Biggs '13, Janina Martinez-Fields '08, Chelsea Daniel '16, Sarah Straub '11, and Lumturja Huseinovic '19 were recognized at center court alongside former head coach Varell Eddie and current assistant coach DJ Peoples '21.

Individually, Jessica McHugh (SO/Ellenville, NY) led Purchase with nine points and four rebounds.

Charlee Neb (JR/Longmont, CO) added four points and six boards, while Kaylena Steiner (SO/Fresno, CA) chipped in six points.

Tvisha Sivaramakrishnan (FY/White Plains, NY) pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, followed closely by Kendall Larsen (SO/Staten Island, NY) with seven.

The Panthers shot 31.7% from the field and grabbed 35 rebounds in the loss compared to the guests 46.9% and 31 rebounds. 

Up next, the Blue and Orange head to Mount Saint Mary College on February 11th for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
