MAHWAH, N.J. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team was defeated in a Skyline Conference matchup Monday evening, falling to Ramapo College in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-17, 30-28 and 25-15.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 13-14 overall and 6-6 in the league. For the Roadrunners, they improved to 14-8 and 10-3, respectively.
The first and third sets were decisive wins for the hosts, as they used long runs in each frame to create the separation needed.
However, the middle set was much more of a toss-up between the two schools, as the Blue and Orange fought off set point three times.
Over the final points of the match, Purchase tied the margin when trailing 24-22, 25-24 and 27-26.
They also nearly won the frame twice, gaining set point at 26-25 and 28-27, before ultimately falling in the effort, 30-28.
Overall, the Panthers hit .114 with 33 kills, while Ramapo finished with tallies of .250 and 39.
Individually, 
Channing Williams (SO/Neptune, NJ) led the way with 11 kills and eight digs.
Tyler Ryan (JR/Port Reading, NJ) added nine kills and a team-high 12 digs, while 
Ayden Mercado (FY/Brooklyn, NY) finished with 17 assists.
Up next for the squad is more road Skyline action, as Purchase travels to Mount Saint Vincent tomorrow (3/25) at 6 p.m.
