PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team cruised to an easy win Tuesday afternoon, besting Manhattanville University by the score of 7-0.
With the result, the Panthers are now 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the Skyline Conference. For the Valiants, they dropped to 3-8 and 0-4, respectively.
The hosts got off to a fast start as they took all three doubles matches to grab a 1-0 lead.
From there, the No.2-5 singles' quartet of
Suleyman Eminov (SR/Mary, Turkmenistan),
Isaac Spottek (FR/Conklin, NY),
Steve Mains (SR/Mount Kisco, NY) and
Oliver Culliton (SR/Boston, MA) each finished with straight-set wins.
At the No. 1 spot,
Eli Palagatshev (JR/Yonkers, NY) won his matchup in three sets, while No. 6
Andrew Agosto (SR/Poughkeepsie, NY) won by default.
Up next for the Panthers is a road non-conference game with Bard College on April 17th at 3 p.m.
