PURCHASE, N.Y. — The Purchase College men's tennis team hosted Farmingdale State on Friday afternoon, dropping a 6–1 decision in Skyline Conference play.
With the results, the Blue and Orange moved to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the Conference, while the Rams improved to 12-2 and 4-0, respectively.
The guests swept doubles and earned five singles wins to stay unbeaten in the conference.
Purchase picked up a point at No. 2 singles, where
Suleyman Eminov (SR/Mary, Turkmenistan) edged Farmingdale's Zakaria Ahmed in a competitive straight-set victory, 6–4, 7–6 (14–12).
Eli Palagatshev (JR/Yonkers, NY) and
Isaac Spottek (FY/Conklin, NY) each pushed their singles matches into close sets or third sets, keeping things tight on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts despite the overall result.
Up next, the Panthers travel to Sarah Lawrence College on April 19 for a noon matchup.
