THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Purchase College men's lacrosse team fell to Skyline Conference opponent Maritime College on Saturday afternoon, 27–2.
With the results, the Blue and Orange are now 3–10 overall and 0–5 in the conference, while the hosts improved to 6-7 and 4-1, respectively.
The Panthers were held scoreless for three quarters before getting on the board in the fourth with goals from Kevon Joseph (JR/Brooklyn, NY) and Zach Scott (FY/West Babylon, NY). Joseph also recorded an assist.
Brendon Truex (JR/Middletown, NY) anchored the defense with five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
In goal, TJ Pasqualini (FY/West Harrison, NY) and Vincent Fuentes (FY/Bethpage, NY) combined for 13 saves on 60 total shots.
Purchase was outshot 60–10 and lost the ground ball battle 59–17.
The Blue and Orange return to action on April 23, traveling to Saint Joseph's University-Long Island for a 5:30 p.m. faceoff.
