PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Purchase College men's lacrosse team dropped a 10–6 decision to Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph's University-Long Island Tuesday evening.

With the results, the Blue and Orange are 3-11 overall and 0-6 in the Skyline, while the hosts moved to 3-8 and 1-5, respectively.

The Panthers kept things close early, trailing just 3–2 after the first quarter and tying the game at 3–3 early in the second. But the Golden Eagles pulled away in the second half with a 4–1 third quarter and closed strong in the fourth.

Individually, Kevon Joseph (JR/Brooklyn, NY) led the Purchase offense with two goals and two assists. Zach Scott (FY/West Babylon, NY), Soleil Gaines (JR/Garrison, NY), Jack Saueracker (SR/Old Bethpage, NY), and Vincent Licastri (FY/West Babylon, NY) each added a goal, with Gaines and Scott also contributing an assist apiece.

On the defensive side, Aiden Thomas (JR/Miami, FL) collected four ground balls and one caused turnover, while Gaines added in three caused turnovers. Cameron Savoca (SO/Nesconset, NY) won 8 of 13 draws and added nine ground balls and two caused turnovers to the books. 

In goal, TJ Pasqualini (FY/West Harrison, NY) made 15 saves on 25 shots and collected 10 ground balls.

Despite the loss, the Panthers held the faceoff edge (10–9) and converted one of their six man-up opportunities. However, they were outshot 34–19 and committed 34 turnovers to the hosts' 22.

Purchase will look to close out the regular season when they host the United States Merchant Marine Academy on April 26 for a noon faceoff.
