NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Purchase College men's tennis team collected another key Skyline Conference win on Wednesday evening, overpowering Mount Saint Mary College 6–1 on the road.
The Panthers, now 7–3 overall and 4–2 in Skyline play, got off to a flying start by sweeping all three doubles courts. Suleyman Eminov (SR/Mary, Turkmenistan) and Isaac Spottek (FY/Conklin, NY) turned in a sharp 6–2 win at No. 1 doubles, while the duos of Eli Palagatshev (JR/Yonkers, NY) and Steve Mains (SR/Mount Kisco, NY) won 6–4 at No. 2 and Oliver Culliton (SR/Boston, MA) and Andrew Agosto (SR/Poughkeepsie, NY) cruised to a 6–0 result at No. 3.
Purchase kept the momentum going in singles, taking five of six matches in straight sets. Palagatshev breezed to a 6–0, 6–2 victory at No. 1 singles, while Eminov and Spottek dropped just four total games combined at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.
Steve Mains and Andrew Agosto also tallied comfortable wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
The Blue and Orange are back on court April 24, taking on York College at 3 p.m.
