PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College men's lacrosse team dropped its second Skyline Conference matchup Saturday afternoon, falling 19-4 at Anderson Hill Road rival Manhattanville University, by the score of 19-4.
With the result, the Panthers fell to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the conference, while the Valiants improved to 2-8 and 1-0, respectively.
Purchase scored their first goal in the 2nd frame after Manhattanville raced out to a 7-0 first-quarter lead. The hosts outshot the Blue and Orange 87-15 and controlled 26 of 27 faceoffs. The Panthers trailed 13-1 at the half but managed to net three more goals before the final whistle ended the game.
Zach Collins (SR/Victor, NY) led Purchase with three goals and one assist, while Soleil Gaines (SO/Brooklyn, NY) added a goal and an assist.
Jack Saueracker (SR/ Old Bethpage, NY) chipped in two assists and Cameron Savoca (SO/Nesconset, NY) recorded three caused turnovers and six ground balls.
In goal, TJ Pasqualini (FY/West Harrison, NY) took the loss (1-4) recording 26 saves, while Vincent Fuentes (FY/Bethpage, NY) added four in relief.
Purchase returns to action on April 11 with a home matchup against Farmingdale State. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. under the lights.
