PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's tennis team continued its opening stretch of the 2025 season with a home matchup against Hunter College Saturday morning. Despite strong efforts across the lineup, the Panthers dropped a 7-0 decision to the Hawks.
With the results, the Blue and Orange now sit 1-2 on the season, while the visitors improved to 1-0.
In doubles, the top duo of Emma Arnaud (SR/Farmington, NY) and Amelia Perlmutter (JR/Rutherford, NJ) stayed close before falling 6-4 at the No. 1 spot. The pairing of Sierra Blanco (SR/New York, NY) and Katelin Smith (JR/Slate Hill, NY) also pushed Hunter in an identical 6-4 decision at No. 2.
On the singles side, Perlmutter fought hard at No. 1 before coming up short, while Arnaud followed with a competitive showing at No. 2. Smith challenged at No. 4, taking several long rallies before falling in straight sets.
Up next, the Panthers are on the road traveling to John Jay College on Septemeber 18th for a 4 p.m. match.
