Purchase Drops Skyline Opener at Yeshiva

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. - The Purchase College men's soccer team opened Skyline Conference play with a defeat Sunday afternoon, falling at Yeshiva University by the score of 3-0.

With the result, the Panthers dropped to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the league. For the Macs, they moved to 1-3-2 and 1-1-2, respectively.

The hosts scored twice in the opening half, before pushing it to three in 79th minute. In the win, they totaled 21 shots (eight on goal).

For the Blue and Orange, the squad produced two chances on the day, including one on goal late from Luca Li Vigni (SR/Staten Island, NY).

In goal, Luca Valeriano (FY/Bronx, NY) finished with five saves in the effort.

Up next for the Panthers is a return to non-conference action, as they travel to Brooklyn College on September 16th at 6 p.m.
