ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Senior Sierra Blanco (New York, NY) secured Purchase's lone point on Saturday with a straight-set victory at No. 4 singles, but the Panthers came up short in a 6-1 decision against Bard College.

The loss moved Purchase to 2-3 on the season, while Bard improved to 2-2.

Blanco cruised through the opening set, 6-0, before grinding out a 7-5 win in the second to seal the match. Her effort kept the Panthers in the mix after doubles play, where the duo of Novalie Nguyen (SR/Macedon, NY) and Katelin Smith (JR/Slate Hill, NY) earned a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.

At No. 3 singles, Smith nearly added another point for Purchase, taking the first set 6-2 before falling 2-6, 6-0 in the final two frames. Despite her efforts, the Panthers ultimately dropped the match.

The Blue and Orange are back on home courts on September 25th when they host Western Conneticut State University.
