NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team was bested on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to Baruch College in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-13, 25-10 and 25-19. With the result, the Panthers moved to 1-7 overall. For the Bearcats, they jumped to 2-9.
The hosts used massive runs in all three frames to take a sizable leads and control the match the entire way.
On the day, the Blue and Orange totaled 12 kills on a negative hitting percentage, while Baruch tallied 38 kills on .228 hitting.Â
Individually,
Sadie Weiss (SO/Bronx, NY) fueled the offense with seven kills and an ace.
Natalia Leite (JR/Thornwood, NY) added seven assists and eight digs, while
Marcella Pena (JR/Bronx, NY) finished with 12 digs in the effort.
Up next for the Panthers is another non-conference road matchup, this time at Mitchell College on September 24th at 7 p.m.
