PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College men's soccer team fell to Manhattanville University, 4-1, in a Skyline Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
With the results, the Blue and Orange moved to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the Skyline, while the Valiants improved to 3-6-1 and 1-0-1, respectively.
The Panthers opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Sebastian Ford (FY/Richmond, VA) buried his first collegiate goal off an assist from Felix Robinson (SO/Bronx, NY), giving Purchase the early 1-0 advantage. Manhattanville responded just before halftime to even the match, 1-1.
In the second half, the hosts broke through with three goals. Despite solid defensive efforts and eight saves from goalkeeper Luca Valeriano (FY/Bronx, NY), the Panthers could not overcome the late push.
Purchase finished with seven shots, including two on target, while Manhattanville recorded 26 attempts, 12 on goal.
