PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's soccer team rolled past St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn, 10-0, in Skyline Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

With the results, the Blue and Orange improved to 3-4 overall and 2-2 Skyline, while the Bears moved to 0-6 and 0-3, respectively.

The hosts controlled the game from start to finish, scoring six times in the first half and adding four more after the break. Julieth Velasquez (SR/White Plains, NY) opened the scoring in the 8th minute off a feed from Maggie Obman (JR/Scotia, NY). Lindita Selmani (JR/Brooklyn, NY)  followed with a penalty kick goal in the 18th minute, then added two more tallies before halftime to complete her hat trick.

Purchase continued to press in the second half. Kelly Casas (FY/Stoneridge, NY) also recorded a hat trick — all assisted by Selmani — while Lilah Hall (FY/Danville, VT), Carolyn Hough (SR/Massapequa, NY) and Katherine Lasky (FY/Lancaster, NY) each added one.

Sophmore Saige Navara (Hurley, NY) held the back line for the Blue and Orange allowing goalkeepers Jill Creegan (SO/High Falls, NY), Valentina Quintero (SO/Eastchester, NY), and Hough to focus on the team's third shutout of the season. The Purchase defense held St. Joseph's to just one shot on goal in the contest.

The Panthers finished with a 45-1 shot advantage, including 30 shots on goal. 

Up next, Purchase heads to Maritime College for another Skyline matchup, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. on September 30th.
