JAMAICA, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team earned a convincing victory Tuesday night, besting York College in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-11, 25-18 and 25-12. With the non-conference win, the Panthers are now 2-8 overall. For the Cardinals, they dropped to 3-7.
For the Blue and Orange, they finished with 19 kills on .034 hitting, while the hosts managed just 13 kills on negative hitting.
Purchase dominated the first and final sets, using big runs early to take control and never let up.
The middle frame saw the closest action, and in fact, even saw the Panthers trail by a handful of points, before they responded late to collect victory.
Individually,
Sadie Weiss (SO/Bronx, NY) powered the effort with nine points, as she totaled six kills and three aces.
Natalia Leite (JR/Thornwood, NY) collected 14 assists, while
Maya Brown (JR/Carteret, NJ) finished with a match-high 19 digs.Â
Up next for the Panthers is the start of Skyline Conference action, as the team hosts the University of Mount Saint Vincent on October 4th at 11 a.m.
