NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Purchase College women's soccer team opened its 2025 season on the road Monday evening, falling 5-0 to Albertus Magnus College.
The Blue and Orange are now 0-1 on the season, while the Falcons moved to 3-1.
The hosts struck early with three goals in the opening half before adding two more in the second. The Panthers relied on two goalkeepers to handle the pressure, as Carolyn Hough (SR/Massapequa, NY) tallied six saves against 16 shots before Valentina Quintero (SO/Eastchester, NY) took over in net after halftime and added two saves.
While the Panthers were held without a shot, several first-years saw significant action and gained valuable minutes in their first collegiate match, including Lilah Hall (Danville, VT), Katherine Lasky (Lancaster, NY) and Ariella Pabon (West Hempstead, NY).
Purchase will now turn its attention to the home opener, set for September 13, when the Blue and Orange welcome Pratt Institute for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
