BRONX, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team earned a convincing win Monday night, besting Lehman College in a straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-18, 25-14 and 25-12. With the non-conference win, the Panthers moved to 1-3 overall. For the Lightning, they open the year 0-1.
On the night, the Blue and Orange finished with 30 kills on a .244 hitting percentage, as they increased each total over all three sets. The guests also used four-point runs to build margins in each frame, as they enjoyed seven such runs in the win.
For the hosts, they managed just 14 kills on -.018 hitting.Â
Individually,
Claudia Moses (SO/Stamford, CT) and
Marcella Pena (JR/Bronx, NY) each finished with seven kills apiece. The latter also added seven aces to led the squad in points with 14.
Natalia Leite (JR/Thornwood, NY) collected a season-high 19 assists, while
Darlene Baez (FY/Bronx, NY) tallied eight digs.
Up next for the Panthers is a return home, as they host Brooklyn College on September 11th at 7 p.m.
