PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's basketball team soared to an easy win Saturday afternoon, besting St. Joseph's University-Long Island by the score of 90-65.

With the result, the Panthers jumped to 7-13 overall and 5-6 in the Skyline Conference. For the Golden Eagles, they dropped to 9-10 and 5-5, respectively.

While the hosts started the game scoreless over the first 2:44 of action, they quickly made up for it with back to back 3-pointers. From there, they were off to the races and never looked back, eventually leading 45-26 at the break.

The fast-paced action continued in the second frame, as the advantage grew to as many as 25 points. In the end, the Blue and Orange won by that margin, taking the contest 90-65, as they finished with their second-best scoring output of the season.

Offensively, the Panthers were successful all game, shooting 47.9 percent from the field. 3-pointers set the tone for the hosts, as they nailed 18 in the win while shooting 42.9 percent.
