NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's basketball team was defeated on the road Friday night, falling to Mount Saint Mary College by the score of 80-44.
With the result, the Panthers moved to 6-7 overall and 5-3 in the Skyline Conference. For the Knights, they moved to 7-6 and 6-2, respectively.
On the evening, the hosts jumped in front early and never looked back as they closed the first quarter on a 10-0 run to lead 23-7 after 10 minutes.
At halftime, the score was 38-21 in favor of MSMC.
For the Blue and Orange, they shot 25 percent from the field on the night. For the hosts, they nearly doubled the mark at 49.2 percent.
Individually,
Tianna Patten (FY/Mount Vernon, NY) led all players with a game-high 24 points, five rebounds and three steals.
Charlee Neb (SR/Longmont, CO) added eight points, three rebounds and two assists in the effort.Â
Up next for the squad is more Skyline road action as the team takes on Sarah Lawrence College on January 13th at 5 p.m.
