RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's basketball team was defeated on the road Sunday afternoon, falling to the University of Mount Saint Vincent by the score of 50-47.
With the result, the Panthers dropped to 9-10 overall and 8-6 in the Skyline Conference. For the Dolphins, they moved to 4-14 and 2-11, respectively.
It was a tough outcome for the Blue and Orange, as they lead after the first quarter, 15-10, and again at halftime, 25-19.
The third quarter was a decisive win for the hosts though, as they outscored the Panthers, 19-9, to grab the lead for good.
For Purchase, the squad kept things close in second half, as it cut the margin to just two points on several occasions. But they could not get over the hump and ultimately fell in the conference matchup.
In the effort, the guests shot 28.6 percent from the field and just 20 percent from long range. They were also bested in rebounds and committed more turnovers.
Individually,
Tianna Patten (FY/Mount Vernon, NY) led the way with a game-high 17 points, three rebounds and two blocks.
Jamyra Mccray (FY/Brooklyn, NY) added eight points and four steals, while
Charlee Neb (SR/Longmont, CO) chipped in six points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Up next for the squad is a road contest at St. Joseph's-Long Island on February 4th at 7 p.m.
