Panthers Fall at Ramapo

MAHWAH, N.J. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team was defeated on the road Thursday night, falling to Ramapo College in straight sets.

Scores for the contest were 25-17, 25-18 and 25-17.

With the result, the Panthers dropped to 1-9 overall, while the Roadrunners now stand at 5-7.

Mini runs of four-straight points sunk the Blue and Orange on the night, as the former Skyline Conference foes used these stretches to create the needed separation in each set.

Overall, the guests finished with 25 kills on .125 hitting. For Ramapo, it tallied 30 kills on .323 hitting.

Individually, Jael Martinez (JR/Bronx, NY) led the way with seven points (six kills, two blocks assists) and three digs.

Danny Kanner (FY/Smithtown, NY) added 19 assists and two aces, while Hector Ruiz (SO/Bronx, NY) chipped in five digs and five kills.

Up next for the squad are six days of rest before they begin Skyline Conference action against SUNY Old Westbury. That game will take place at home on February 25th at 6 p.m. as part a doubleheader.
