THROGGS NECK, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's basketball team rolled to a huge win in the Skyline Conference Quarterfinals Wednesday night, besting Maritime College by the score of 89-65.

With the win, the No.5 seeded Panthers will now travel to No.1 Yeshiva University on February 27th for a noon showdown in the Semifinals.

As for the contest tonight, the Blue and Orange dominated early and never looked back. On the back of 51.3 percent overall shooting and 57.1 percent on 3-pointers, the guests raced out to a 48-33 halftime lead.

Following the break, that lead continued to grow and grow, eventually topping out at 28 points just five minutes into the second half.

In the end, the squad had a balanced scoring effort with five players in double figures, and played a clean game as they turned it over just seven times.

For the Privateers, they shot 43.9 percent overall but just 24 percent from long range. They also committed 18 turnovers along the way.

Individually, Maurice Western (FY/Bronx, NY) paced the action as he tied his career-high with 23 points, five assists and three steals.
