PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's basketball team was defeated at home on Saturday afternoon, falling to Mount Saint Mary College by the score of 66-55.

With the result, the Panthers dropped to 10-11 overall and 9-7 in the Skyline Conference. For the Knights, they jumped to 13-8 and 12-4, respectively.

In the beginning, the hosts started fast by scoring six of the first eight points. However, by the end of the first quarter, the tide had turned and the guests were ahead, 17-9.

At halftime, the margin was 36-26 in favor of the Knights.

In the second half, Purchase trimmed the advantage to just six points, before ultimately succumbing to Mount Saint Mary.

Overall, the Blue and Orange shot 34.8 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from long range. For the guests, they recorded percentages of 42.3 and 41.7, respectively.

While the Panthers won the rebounding battle (41-35 overall, 15-6 offensive), the Knights made up the difference on free throws as they made 17 to Purchase's three.

Individually, Charlee Neb (SR/Longmont, CO) finished with a team-high 16 points, including 4-for-8 on 3-pointers.

Halle Greaige (JR/Rye Brook, NY) collected 13 points and four rebounds, while Kaylena Steiner (JR/Fresno, CA) added nine points, six rebounds and four steals.

Up next for the squad is some Skyline road action at Manhattanville University on February 10th at 6 p.m.
