PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team continued to cruise in Skyline Conference play Wednesday night, as it blew past Sarah Lawrence College in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-20, 25-20 and 25-18.
With the win, the Panthers are now 6-9 overall and 5-0 in the league. For the Gryphons, they dropped to 8-9 and 2-4, respectively.
For the contest, the hosts won by a thousand cuts as they never enjoyed a scoring run longer than four points. Even still, they were consistent, energetic and decisive when they had their chances.
In total, the Blue and Orange finished with 38 kills on .231 hitting, while Sarah Lawrence recorded just 22 kills on .082 hitting.
Leading the way was
Hector Ruiz (SO/Bronx, NY) as he compiled 12.5 points on 11 kills, one ace and one block assist.
Danny Kanner (FY/Smithtown, NY collected 28 assists, six kills, two aces and two block assists, while
Joey Toscano (SO/Levittown, NY) finished with a game-high 10 digs.
Up next for the squad is more home Skyline action, as the squad hosts St. Joseph's University-Long Island on March 14th at 11 a.m.
