PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team was defeated at home Saturday afternoon, falling to St. Joseph's University-Long Island in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-9, 25-11 and 25-9.
With the loss, the Panthers dropped to 6-10 overall and 5-1 in the Skyline Conference. For the Golden Eagles, they moved to 9-8 and 7-0, respectively.
In the performance, the Blue and Orange finished with 20 kills on a negative hitting percentage, while the guests tallied 35 kills on .358 hitting.
Individually,
Jael Martinez (JR/Bronx, NY) led the way with six kills and seven digs.
Danny Kanner (FY/Smithtown, NY) added 16 assists, five digs and a solo block, while
Hector Ruiz (SO/Bronx, NY) chipped in seven digs and five kills.
Up next for the squad is more home Skyline action, as it hosts St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on March 19th at 7 p.m.
