PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team earned another big win Thursday night, besting St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-19, 25-15 and 25-22.
With the win, the Panthers are now 7-10 overall and 6-1 in the Skyline Conference. For the Bears, they dropped to 8-7 and 5-4, respectively.
On the night, the Blue and Orange were locked in with their hitting, as they finished with 44 kills on a .307 percentage.
For the guests, they hit decently with 22 kills on a .150 hitting percentage but just couldn't match the Panthers.
In the end, a breakout performance from
Hector Ruiz (SO/Bronx, NY) fueled the win, as he finished with a season-high 15 kills, four aces and seven digs.
Danny Kanner (FY/Smithtown, NY) continues to be a force in 2026, as he added 37 assists, 15 digs and three aces along the way.
Jael Martinez (JR/Bronx, NY) and
Udel Phillips (JR/Far Rockaway, NY) each recorded nine kills apiece.
Up next for the team is a quick turnaround as they are back in action today, March 20th, as they host Mount Saint Vincent at 7 p.m.
