FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team lost its 2026 season opener Sunday afternoon, falling at Baruch College by the score of 7-0.
With the result, the Panthers are now 0-1, while the Bearcats jumped to 4-0.
On the day, the hosts secured the wins with relative ease as the Blue and Orange struggled to win games.
In doubles action, the No.1 duo of
Eli Palagatshev (SR/Yonkers, NY) and
Isaac Spottek (SO/Conklin, NY) fell by the score of 6-1.
Then in solo play, No.1 Palagatshev was defeated, 6-1 and 6-2, as No.2 Spottek lost by a similar total, 6-2, 6-2.

Markian Nychka (SR/Armonk, NY) was the only other Panther to win a game, as he was bested by the margin of 6-0, 6-1.
Up next for the squad is more road non-conference action, as it travels to Brooklyn College on March 17th at 3:30 p.m.
