WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Purchase College baseball team concluded its run of games in Florida Wednesday afternoon, as it closed out the trip with a trio of matchups.
Over the final three games, the Panthers went 1-2 and finished the trip 3-3 in total. With the results, they are now 6-10 overall.
Game Four: DePauw 8, Purchase 1 (7 inn.)
In the first game of a doubleheader, the Blue and Orange finished with just five hits as
Michael Pagano (FY/Franklin Square, NY) had a single and knocked in the lone run.
On the mound,
Louis Gonzalez (FY/Yonkers, NY) went five innings, as he allowed four runs on six hits with four strikeouts.
Game Five: Purchase 5, DePauw 2 (7 inn.)
The second contest of the day swung in favor of Purchase, as the squad tallied five runs on 10 hits in the performance.
Brian Saldana (JR/Middletown, NY) recorded three hits, including two doubles, and two runs.
Earning the win after 5.1 innings of work was
Sean Fanning (FY/Smithtown, NY). He allowed just two runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
Game Six: Elmhurst 14, Purchase 1 (7 inn.)
The final game of the trip saw the Blue and Orange record eight hits.
Ben Sciarra (SO/Brooklyn, NY) finished with a single and a run scored.
On the mound,
Thomas Fanning (FY/Smithtown, NY) collected the loss after two innings. He allowed 10 runs (three earned) on eight hits with a strikeout.
Up next for the squad is a return home as they begin Skyline Conference play against Old Westbury on March 28th at 11 a.m.
