NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Purchase College women's lacrosse team was thwarted on the road Friday evening, as Albertus Magnus College prevailed by the score of 14-5.
With the result, the Panthers dropped to 0-5 overall. For the Falcons, they jumped to 4-4.
The first quarter saw the hosts race out to an early margin and never look back as they grabbed the lead, 6-1. By halftime, the score was 12-3.
On the day, the Blue and Orange finished with nine shots overall, 11 ground balls and 10 draw controls.Â
Individually,
Julieth Velasquez (SR/White Plains, NY) powered the effort with three goals, two ground balls and nine draw controls.
Catie Chios (JR/Westbury, NY) added a goal and an assist, while
Jill Creegan (SO/High Falls, NY) tallied a goal and ground ball.
In goal,
Savannah Haynes (FY/Yonkers, NY) finished with six saves, three ground balls and one caused turnover.
Up next for the Panthers is the final non-conference game of the year at Cedar Crest College. That game is set for March 30th at 5 p.m.
