PATCHOGUE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team was defeated on the road Tuesday night, falling to St. Joseph's University-Long Island in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-13, 25-22 and 25-17.
With the result, the Panthers are now 9-13 overall and 8-4 in the Skyline Conference. For the Golden Eagles, they moved to 17-9 and 13-0, respectively.
On the night, the Blue and Orange hit .129 with 34 kills, while the hosts more than matched those totals.Â
Individually,
Matthew Ortiz (JR/Bronx, NY) led the way with eight kills, while three other Panthers finished with seven apiece.
Danny Kanner (FY/Smithtown, NY) collected 26 assists, while
Joey Toscano (SO/Levittown, NY) recorded 12 digs.
Up next for the squad is a home doubleheader on April 2nd, as Purchase hosts SUNY Old Westbury and Brooklyn College.
