PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's tennis team dropped two road contests this weekend, first at Brooklyn College and then at Manhattanville University.
With the results, the Panthers are now 4-6 overall and 1-4 in the Skyline Conference.
Friday, April 10th - Match One: Brooklyn 4, Purchase 3
The first game of the weekend saw a close contest throughout.
In doubles, the Blue and Orange dropped the point despite a win at the No.1 spot by
Eli Palagatshev (SR/Yonkers, NY) and
Isaac Spottek (SO/Conklin, NY), 6-4.
In singles, No.1 Palagatshev prevailed again, this time by the scores of 7-5, 6-1. Spottek, at the No.2 spot, won in comeback fashion - 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
The final victory for Purchase came at No.5, as
Pedro Llonch-Vidalle (SR/New York, NY) outlasted his foe - 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.
Saturday, April 11th - Match Two: Manhattanville 7, Purchase 0
Following the close contest, the guests were dispatched by their conference rivals without winning a game.
In the effort, Llonch-Vidalle and
Ryan Hobson (SO/Baldwin, NY) came the closest to victory at No.3 doubles, before falling by the score of 6-4.
Up next for the men's tennis team is a few days of rest, before it hosts Bard College on April 15th at 4 p.m.
