Women's Lacrosse Falls at Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's lacrosse team was defeated on the road Saturday, falling at Manhattanville University by the score of 22-2.

With the result, the Panthers dropped to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the Skyline Conference. For the Valiants, they moved to 6-6 and 3-2, respectively.

On the day, the hosts scored the first 10 goals and lead at halftime, 13-1.

Overall, the Blue and Orange finished with four shots (two on goal), 12 ground balls and five clears.

Individually, Maggie Obman (JR/Scotia, NY) and Jill Creegan (SO/High Falls, NY) each scored a goal.

In goal, Julieth Velasquez (SR/White Plains, NY) got her first career start, finishing with seven saves, four ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control.

Up next for the squad is a return home as it hosts Farmingdale State College on April 15th at 6 p.m.
