Panthers Score 56 Runs Over Two Wins

TEANECK, N.J. - The Purchase College baseball team secured two massive wins Friday afternoon, as it cruised past Yeshiva University by the scores of 26-3 and 30-2.

With the results, the Panthers are now 14-13 overall and 7-3 in the Skyline Conference. For the Macs, they dropped to 1-19 and 0-10, respectively.

Game One: Purchase 26, Yeshiva 3 (7 inn.)

The guests cruised early and often on the day, as they exploded for 14 runs in the fifth inning to fuel the victory.

Overall, the Blue and Orange plated 26 runs on 12 hits, as Jared Rosa (JR/Manhattan, NY), Patrick Reyes (SR/Plainedge, NY) and Michael Pagano (FY/Franklin Square, NY) each finished with three RBIs.

On the mound, Brian Saldana (JR/Middletown, NY) collected the win after pitching five innings. He allowed two runs on four hits with five strikeouts.

Game Two: Purchase 30, Yeshiva 2 (6 inn.)

The second contest was an even bigger blowout, as the Panthers scored in all six innings before the game was called early due to rain.

Overall, Purchase produced 30 runs on 20 hits, as four players had at least three hits. Rosa led the way with four hits, seven RBIs and four runs.

On the hill, Nicholas Gonzalez (FY/Yonkers, NY) earned the win after going five innings. He allowed no runs on just four hits with eight strikeouts.

Up next for the squad is more Skyline road action, as the Panthers travel to St. Joseph's-Long Island on April 20th at 2 p.m.
