KINGS POINT, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's lacrosse team was defeated on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to the United States Merchant Marine Academy by the score of 24-2.
With the result, the Panthers are now 1-9 overall and 0-5 in the Skyline Conference. For the Mariners, they moved to 8-5 and 4-1, respectively.
On the day, the hosts scored the first 19 goals of the game to cruise to the win.
For the Blue and Orange, they opened the second half with a goal from
Chandler Redwood (JR/Dayton, OH), before
Kevon Joseph (SR/Brooklyn, NY) doubled that goal total in the fourth quarter.
Overall, the guests finished with 18 shots (eight on goal), nine ground balls and three face-off wins.
Individually,
Ryan Haberski (FY/Saugerties, NY) recorded two assists, while
Cameron Savoca (JR/Nesconset, NY) collected four ground balls.
In goal,
TJ Pasqualini (SO/West Harrison, NY) totaled 13 saves and four ground balls in the effort.
Up next for the squad is Senior Night, as it hosts St. Joseph's University-Long Island on April 22nd at 7 p.m.
