MSMC Tops Purchase in Doubleheader

NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Purchase College softball team was defeated on the road Tuesday afternoon, falling at Mount Saint Mary College by the scores of 8-3 and 8-0.

With the results, the Panthers are now 11-15 overall and 3-7 in the Skyline Conference. For the Knights, they moved to 11-15 and 7-3, respectively.

Game One: MSMC 8, Purchase 3

The hosts scored the first three runs, before the Blue and Orange tied the game in the top of the fourth.

The lead was short lived, as the Knights regained the advantage in the bottom half of the frame, before winning comfortably in the end.

Overall, the Panthers finished with six hits as Arielle Reddick (SO/Fishkill, NY) led the way with two doubles.

On the mound, Bryce Kane (FY/Westborough, MA) was tagged with the loss. She pitched a six-inning complete game, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits.

Game Two: MSMC 8, Purchase 0 (6 inn.)

The final contest of the day was all the hosts, as they held Purchase scoreless. For the Panthers, they finished with six hits, including a trio from Reddick.

Liv Goff (JR/Syracuse, NY) collected the loss in the complete game. She went six innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 11 hits with four strikeouts.

Up next for the squad is the final non-conference action of the season, as it hosts York College on April 23th at 3 p.m.
