Softball Scores 33 Runs Over Two Wins

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College softball team cruised to a pair of wins Thursday afternoon, besting York College by the scores of 17-1 and 16-0.

With the wins, the Panthers are now 13-15 overall. For the Cardinals, they dropped to 2-13.

Game One: Purchase 17, York 1 (5 inn.)

On the day, the hosts scored early and often, putting up 13 runs over the first two innings.

In total, they finished with 12 hits as Arielle Reddick (SO/Fishkill, NY) and Sariah Sanchez (SO/Eastvale, CA) each recorded a pair. 

On the mound, Natalie Gallo (FY/West Haven, CT) pitched a complete game. She allowed just one run on one hit with 12 strikeouts. At the plate, Gallo also added a double, three RBIs, three runs and two walks.

Game Two: Purchase 16, York 0 (5 inn.)

The final game was similar to the first, as the Blue and Orange raced out to another massive lead early.

In total, the hosts had 13 hits, including four players with multi-hit games. Christiana Bazzini (FY/Yonkers, NY) led the way with two hits, two RBIs, a run and two walks.

Ava Knox (SO/Mahopac, NY) finished with the win, as she pitched a five-inning complete game. She allowed just two hits along with three strikeouts in the shutout.

Up next for the squad is a return to Skyline Conference action, as it hosts Sarah Lawrence College for Senior Day on April 25th at 11 a.m.
